We gather each year to celebrate the life and legacy of one of BU’s most distinguished alumni, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hosted by the Dean of Students and the Howard Thurman Center, ours is one of Boston’s oldest and largest commemorations of his national holiday.

Recent celebrations have featured Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus, Partners in Health Co-Founder Paul Farmer, Poet Sonia Sanchez, and Joseph Sebarenzi, former president of the Parliament of Rwanda. The festivities also include music by BU’s Inner Strength Gospel Choir, a presentation by BU’s MLK Scholars, and other community contributions.
