The Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground is currently looking for talented and passionate students to be Student Ambassadors! If you’ve ever wanted to get more involved with the programming at the HTC or show your love of everything Howard Thurman, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Below is important information you should know.

What is a Student Ambassador?

Student Ambassadors are integral members of the Howard Thurman Center team. Not only do they run some of our most popular programs like Tea Time and Culture Shock, they live the Howard Thurman philosophy of building and finding community, breaking barriers, and establishing harmony while also encouraging diversity.

What are you looking for?

  • Full-time undergraduate students
  • Must be familiar with Howard Thurman Center programs and show a history of involvement with the Center
  • Be examples of Thurman’s philosophy
  • Passionate and talented

What is the time commitment like?

Student Ambassadors are required to attend a weekly meeting and spend their time during the week to execute their programs. Student Ambassadors typically devote 8 to 10 hours a week total.

Is there compensation?

No. Student Ambassadors are volunteers. But we do have sweet jackets!

What is the deadline?

Currently, the deadline for Ambassadors for the spring semester is Friday, November 2, 2012.
