Notes from the Field
Edited by Daniela Macander
Boston University School of Public Health students are doing practicums and internships all over the world. In this section, we feature reports from current and former BUSPH colleagues who have worked or are working in Uganda, Haiti, India, the Philippines, and right here in Boston, Massachusetts.
The practicum provides students with real world experience in the field of public health and is required in order to earn an MPH at BU. It also builds upon the core competencies taught in the classroom. Participating in a practicum opens many doors for students after graduation and often leads to employment.
The Practice Office at BUSPH is devoted to helping students navigate the practicum process and provides students with the resources and support to find a practicum. For more information regarding the practicum, visit the Practice Office website or contact Scott Harris in the practicum office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
