Update Your BU Mobile App To See The New Comm Ave Loop

The latest BU Mobile App update includes route and arrival times for the new Comm Ave Loop. To update your device, just select “updates” in the “App Store.”

Comm. Ave. Loop Service Begins Tuesday, September 5!

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2017, Parking & Transportation Services will pilot an additional daytime shuttle bus known as the Comm. Ave. Loop to supplement the fall semester weekday service.

The Comm. Ave. Loop shuttle bus will operate Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  During these times, the bus will make 7 stops along the Charles River Campus.

  • Student Village 2
  • Amory Street
  • Mary’s Street
  • Blandford Street
  • Silber Way
  • Marsh Plaza
  • College of Fine Arts

The Comm. Ave. Loop bus will be displayed in green on the BU Mobile App to be easily differentiated from that of the normal weekday daytime shuttles which are currently displayed in red. Additionally, the bus itself will display the words “COMM AVE LOOP” on its front and rear electronic message boards. We look forward to continuing to improve our shuttle service and welcome your feedback as we roll out this new route.

Move-In Week BUS Service (8/28-9/1)

During the week of Move-In, Weekday Daytime Service (7:00 A.M.-11:55 P.M.) will operate with 3 buses during peak (20 minute service) and 2 buses during off peak (30 minute service).

The peak service periods are : 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. to 8:20 P.M.

Construction On The BU Bridge Has Been Completed

Construction on the BU Bridge has been completed. All buses are now following the normal Routes/Stops.

Comm Ave Bridge Project Completion Delayed- Modified Service To Continue

Due to delays with the Comm Ave Bridge Replacement Project, the BUS will continue its slightly modified service until further notice.

Three Stop Relocations July 27 – Aug 14

The BU Shuttle will continue to operate during the construction period (7/27 – 8/14) with the following stop relocations:

  • As of 7AM on July 27th, the Student Village 2 (M1) stop be moved across the street from its usual location and closer to Nickerson Field.
  • As of 7PM on July 27th, the BUS will be unable to stop at Amory Street (M2) and will instead stop one block west, prior to St. Paul Street.
  • As of 7PM on July 27th, the BUS will be unable to stop at St. Mary’s Street (M3) and will instead stop further east, shortly before Cummington Street.

Shuttles will run as scheduled, but delays resulting from traffic along the route will be inevitable.  Users should consult the BU Mobile App for live shuttle locations and estimated arrivals as well as Twitter (@BUShuttle) and the BUS website for service alerts.

Please note that the MBTA will be utilizing Peter Pan for their shuttle buses that will replace Green Line B Branch Service between Babcock and Blandford Streets.  These ARE NOT part of the BU Shuttle Service.
