About The BUS

Boarding

A valid Boston University ID or other acceptable proof of affiliation with the University is required to board The BUS at Agganis Way.

To speed boarding, patrons should have their ID out and ready for inspection, as only the front doors of the bus will be used during the above-listed times.

Capacity Limitations

For your safety, all BUS drivers have been directed by Boston University to limit standees per Massachusetts regulation. Should the capacity of a BUS be reached, we ask that you follow your driver’s direction and patiently wait in an orderly queue for the next shuttle. The waiting time for the next BUS should be reasonable, given the frequency of its service.

Red Sox Home Games

While Boston Red Sox may signal the return of spring or a run for the pennant, it also means increased traffic before and after Fenway Park home games. Users of The BUS should expect significant delays beginning two hours before the start of each home game and approximately one hour after a game’s end (games typically last three hours). While we cannot know the exact extent of the delays in advance, we suggest users add at least one half hour to their schedule. You can obtain a Red Sox schedule by visiting www.redsox.com and selecting the “Schedule” link.

We will do everything we can to keep the shuttle running on time; however, we have no control over the roadways we share with others.

Snow Policy

If CRC Is Closed, Med Campus Open

The BU Shuttle will be reduced to 3 buses during peak (20 minute service) and 2 buses during off peak (30 minute service) periods. As a result of poor road conditions, there will be no large, articulated buses running the shuttle route.  In fact, road conditions may call for BU wrapped shuttles to be replaced by non-wrapped, coach style buses.  When this occurs, any non-wrapped buses will not be visible on the BU Mobile App or the live view of the BUS website.  Any delays in BUS service will be posted on the BUS website and tweeted from @BUShuttle.

If Both Campuses Close

The BU Shuttle’s Daytime and Late Night Service will be cancelled.
