Boston University’s Scientific Computing and Visualization (SCV) group will present a workshop on scientific visualization for
the Boston University community. There is no charge for this event and no previous experience is assumed.
We will begin with a brief introduction to techniques and issues involved in scientific visualization. Graphics software and hardware resources available through SCV will be discussed. This will be followed by sessions on:
- The scientific visualization packages VTK and Paraview
- Using Matlab and IDL for visualization
- Plotting with gnuplot and xmgrace
- Image processing and animation for visualization
- OpenGL, OpenSceneGraph, and Autodesk Maya for visualization
- SCV’s DAFFIE and the BU Deep Vision Display wall
A demonstration of the Deep Vision Display Wall located in SCV’s Computer Graphics Lab will follow the talk, as part of an Open House available to the general Boston University community
There is no charge for this event, but we ask that you register. Lunch will be provided.
