In Blackboard Learn, sometimes it is necessary to clear out your browser’s cache. Please select your browser below and follow the instructions provided.

  1. Launch Safari from your Dock or desktop.

  2. Click Safari from the browser menu at the top of your screen.
  3. Click Empty Cache …

  4. In the confirmation window that appears, click the Empty button.

  1. Launch Safari from your Dock or desktop.

  2. Click Safari from the browser menu at the top of your screen.
  3. Click Reset Safari from the menu

  4. In the ‘Reset Safari’ window that appears, check the Remove all website data box. Boston University’s login system does not allow for saving passwords in a browser so check the Remove saved names and passwords check box if you have previously saved your BU credentials in your browser.   5. Click Reset

  1. Launch Firefox from your Dock or desktop.

  2. Click History from the browser menu at the top of your screen.
  3. Click Clear Recent History…
  4. In the window that appears, for Time range to clear:, select Everything from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click the down arrow next to Details to show the check box options if they are not already visible.
  6. Ensure that at least the Cache, Active Logins and Offline Website Data check boxes are checked. DO NOT click the Site Preferences check box as this will reset some settings like pop-up blockers needed for your online course.
  7. Click the Clear Now button.

  1. Launch Google Chrome from your Dock or desktop.

  2. Click the Chrome in the upper left-hand corner of your monitor.
  3. Click Clear Browsing Data…

  4. In the window that appears, for the Obliterate the following items from: drop down menu, select the beginning of time.
  5. Ensure that at least the Cookies and other site and plug-in data, Cached images and files and Hosted app data check boxes are checked. Boston University’s login system does not allow for saving passwords in a browser so check the Passwords check box if you have previously saved your BU credentials in your browser.
  6. Click the Clear Browsing Data button.

  7. Click the (X) button on the right-hand side of the Settings tab to close this options window.
