Introduction
Statistical Analysis System (SAS) is a popular statistical package that can be used for data management, report writing, statistical analysis, and graphics. Among its statistical capabilities are descriptive statistics, cross- tabulation, regression, analysis of variance, survival analysis, multivariate techniques, econometric and time series procedures, and operations research techniques.

Connect to the Linux Virtual Lab and launch SAS

  1. An account on the Linux Virtual Lab is required.
  2. Connect to the Linux Virtual Lab by entering the following command in an X Window session:
    ssh -Y <YourUsername>@scc-lite.bu.edu
  3. Once connected, type sas at the Linux Virtual Lab prompt to execute the program.

SAS supports both X Window and ASCII interfaces, and will automatically initiate the correct protocol.
