Analog sets are single line phones, meaning that they only have one telephone number on them.  They are most similar to what one would have at home, although at BU they include caller ID, a visual voice mail indicator, speakerphone, a transfer/conference button, and space for you to program frequently called number.  An analog line is appropriate for faculty and staff that only need access to their direct line.  An analog line can be put in up to four different locations in the same building.  This is often the case in large lab environments that sometimes consist of multiple rooms.  In addition, analog lines are used for fax, modem, and alarm lines.

An analog line is $14 per month, an analog set is $5.10 per month, and standard voice mail is an additional $5 per month (for a total of $24.10 including voice mail).
