Generally, BU Google Apps, including BU Google Mail, should be available from wherever you are in the world. However, people do occasionally report problems accessing Google resources from certain countries. If you will be abroad, you can review Google’s listing of blocked traffic at http://www.google.com/transparencyreport/traffic/.
When you are unable to access Google resources, we hope the following workarounds will be helpful:
- Try from both www.bu.edu/google and www.bu.edu/webmail to see if that makes a difference.
- First, connect to the VPN to see if that helps.
- Try to get your mail via desktop client or mobile device.
- If necessary, set up temporary forwarding of your mail to an account that is accessible – www.bu.edu/computing/email/forwarding.
