Overview IS&T manages a 2098 IBM z10 Enterprise Server that optimizes “on-demand” business functions through an advanced combination of reliability, availability, security, scalability, and virtualization features. Processing power can be reallocated dynamically. The z10 allows your department to respond quickly to changing business priorities with the flexibility to turn on/off processing engines. It currently has three engines for zOS and three engines for Linux, with the ability to run multiple Logical Partitions (LPARs) supporting z/OS (MVS), z/VM and Linux. Mainframe software includes Top Secret Security, CICS, COM-PLETE, TCP/IP network, and ADABAS and Oracle databases. Development languages include Natural, COBOL, and Java. Applications include administrative business systems as well human resources and financial systems that serve the business needs of the University.
