Installation Overview

bu-linuxBU Linux is installed via the campus network; we currently do not provide an entirely CD-ROM-based installation process. However, you will need to have a boot CD containing the initial install program, which you can create as described below.

  1. Download either Monde 64-bit systems or Monde 32-bit systems (server/desktop version based on CentOS 5.4).
  2. Make an install CD yourself by downloading the image and using your CD-writing software’s “burn from ISO image” or “create from disc image” feature. Don’t just put the file on the disc.
  3. Boot your system from that install CD and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need more help, check out our step-by-step installation guide.
