Overview	GALAXY enables staff to view, manage, and extract business information which supports the University enterprise. The range of services spans all business processes provided by central administration. These include student, financial, employment, alumni, and other business information. Each client’s menu is based on their job function and access to services is controlled by the business office responsible for the service. For Student Systems, these functions service the business areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounting, Registration, Student Health, Student Employment,etc.

Benefits	Many administrative functions and tasks are provided to the relevant clients through traditional terminal-based interfaces. The access to data and functions is handled by departmental Data Security Administrators who grant access to tasks and functions and who associate appropriate value security.

Getting Started	Staff requiring access to Student Systems through GALAXY should contact their unit’s Data Security Administrator to request access. Requests are initiated using the IS&T Application Services Request Form
