GEMS provides industry benchmark enrollment management services and enables graduate schools to transfer data on prospective students and applicants directly to IS&T central systems. |
| Key Features |
- Direct client services: provided for graduate applicants (online application), recommenders, graduate admissions personnel, application reviewers, and prospective students (inquiry)
- Supporting services: integration with internal BU services, including Early-Bird Registration (account provisioning), ISSO (international student data collection), Financial Aid, and Cashier (application fees)
- External services: integration with third-party systems (centralized application services, EMBARK), and external testing services (ETS – GRE and TOEFL, tentative release fall 2010)
- Yearly maintenance releases to meet changing business process requirements of clients

- Academic units requesting implementation of GEMS for their unit should use the IS&T Application Services Request Form.
- Applicants using the public face of the application process are supported by context sensitive help within the applications.
