GALAXY

Overview GALAXY is a mainframe portal that exposes mainframe-based functionality to University administrators. Service providers and academic and administrative units have access to collections of functions that are permit-driven with intricate value security.

The functions within the GALAXY environment cover many aspects of business at the university, such as student systems, identity and access management, reporting, and a view of historical financial and HR systems (through FY 2011). Some of the functions within GALAXY have equivalents on the Web but a large number of functions are only accessible through the mainframe based portal.
