DAR Constituent Relationship Management enables the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) to strategically engage with alumni and friends of the University, as well as coordinate, manage, and report on fundraising activities. In addition to stewarding alumni, donor and prospect data, DAR constituent Relationship Management coordinates business process workflows critical to Development and Advancement operations.  Several enterprise platforms comprise this service component, including: Blackbaud CRM, iModules encompass, and Evertrue.

DAR Constituent Relationship Management governs a vast amount of data related to constituents, eliminating the need to use numerous external systems to create processes and reports. The elimination of historically manual processes, as well as continuous improvements in efficiency, allow Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff to be more proactive and perform more sophisticated fundraising and prospect management.  In addition to integrating information from University-wide departments and systems, DAR Constituent relationship Mangement improves business efficiency and increases philanthropic support through better management of alumni, prospect pipelines, and donor relations, as well as foster effective stewardship of University endowed and current use funds.

  • Maintains a 360-degree perspective of Boston University constituents (biographical data, contacts, relationships, revenue, education history and involvement, scholarship recipients, fund contacts, prospect management, wealth and ratings, events, memberships, and more)
  • Tracks constituent-related affinity and interest information
  • Maintains constituent-provided communication preferences
  • Manages and records all appeals, receipts, acknowledgements, event invitations, newsletters, development and other communications, displaying all touch points a constituent has with the University
  • Offers an integrated location for Prospect Managers to track contacts, notes, fundraising plans and strategies, solicitation opportunities, prospect teams, prospect stages, and a number of other key performance indicators
  • Helps Stewardship and Donor Relations (SDR) track and plan for anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebrations; include donors in stewardship events and meetings with faculty or staff; and provide reports and updates on endowments and scholarships
  • Supports recognition programs through which the University, as well as individual schools and units, can recognize donors for annual, capital, planned, and campaign gifts
  • Manages philanthropic revenue transaction processing
  • Facilitates alumni event planning, logistics and reporting
  • Provides roll-up and drill-down reporting to evaluate and measure performance at varying levels within the organization.
