Introduction to Blackboard Learn

This session will focus on the basic tasks for setting up your Blackboard Learn course site. Participants can expect to get an overview of the system and to learn how upload documents, add students and manage their course menu. This is a hands-on workshop where participants will work directly in the environment.

This session will be taught by a certified Blackboard trainer.

Please note: This hands-on workshop is open to all faculty and academic staff from both campuses. Students are not permitted unless by the request of a faculty member.

Come hear what new tools and features are available in Blackboard. Participants will get a hands-on demonstration of new tools along with opportunities to brainstorm with colleagues on how to best use the features. Participants should have at least a basic knowledge of Blackboard.

Many faculty are doing it, but how? This workshop will walk you through a flipped classroom design and show you how you can flip your materials in Blackboard. Whether you want to flip a class session or flip an entire semester, this session will show you the tools you need to become a seasoned "flipper".

Blogs, Journals and Wikis in Blackboard Learn

Want to enhance student collaboration in the classroom? Then come learn how to incorporate blogs, journals and wikis into your Blackboard Learn course. Participants can expect to learn how they can use these tools in their course, how students submit their entries and how you can grades them on what they post.

Assignments, Rubrics and Grade Center in Blackboard Learn

Make grading even easier with Blackboard Learn's new Rubrics tool. This session will demonstrate how you can utilize the assignments tool in your course and attach a rubric to make your grading more transparent to your students. We will also cover the basics of Grade Center.
