As part of the 2008 Workshop on Scientific Visualization, SCV staff member Ray Gasser created several ParaView visualizations which are available for your use. For basic information on using the ParaView package on the SCV systems, consult our ParaView Basics help page.
Workshop Example Files
The ParaView visualizations below were originally developed for the 2008 Workshop on Scientific Visualization and are based upon example programs from Kitware. The workshop examples are organized into two subdirectories in the materials directory. These are the Demo directory and the Data directory. The Demo directory contains several directories named for the various types of computer visualization techniques such as Contours, Cutplanes, Streamlines, etc. each of which contains Paraview state files. The Data directory contains the various data files used to create the visualizations.

Using the Workshop Examples
You can either download individual ParaView state files (demo_name.pvsm) from the materials/Demos directory or you can download the entire set of data and visualizations which is in the tar file. If you are downloading the entire set, after you have untared the examples tarfile, you will be able to load any of the visualizations in the materials/Demos directory. First launch the ParaView application by typing paraview on the command line. Once ParaView is running, you can then load any state file by selecting the menu File → Load State and picking which visualization you wish to load. For example:
scc1% cd materials/Demos/Contours/ scc1% paraview
File → Load State (isosurface.pvsm)
