This is a reminder that the week of October 1st – 5th is the the second annual Information Security Awareness Week (ISAW) hosted by the Information Security Team. This effort is in coordination with National Information Security Awareness Month. During the month of October, universities and other organizations across the country host events and campaigns to help people understand more and raise awareness about this important field.
Participate by taking advantage of our free shredding event offered to all BU faculty, staff, and students. Start gathering up your sensitive (and non-sensitive) documents and take full advantage of this free service! Bring any and all papers you want to shred to the following locations. InfoSec personnel will be on hand to accept custody of your documents and watch over them until they are destroyed:

- Wednesday, 10/3 – 11-1pm – BUMC – between the School of Medicine and School of Public Health
- Thursday, 10/4 – 9-noon, – CRC – Agganis Arena Lot
In addition to the shredding event, Quinn Shamblin, Executive Director of InfoSec, will be emailing & tweeting out daily tips that will help you become more secure at work and at home.
