Construction Begins on Mass. High Performance Computing Center

Construction is underway for the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with benefits both for the five-institution collaboration and for the local economy. Boston University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University and the University of Massachusetts formed this venture to boost academic research by building a 90,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art data center to house their research computing systems.  Also participating in the MGHPCC project are the state of Massachusetts, EMC Corp., and Cisco Systems Inc.
