First Annual CISE Student Workshop

This workshop intends to bring together students and faculty affiliated with CISE with the goal to create environment for CISE students to exchange their ideas of research and broaden understanding of the state-of-the-art progress in the center. The immediate objective is to foster a multifaceted investigation from students’ presentations; the ultimate goal is to define a research agenda for the area as a whole and to stimulate new research initiatives in system engineering. A particular focus of this workshop is to investigate the implications of issue in controls and optimization in real world applications,
such as SNETs.

The scope of interest includes but is not limited to:

  • Special Issues in SNETs such asenergy consumption, deployment and location detection
  • Optimal control (elevator control, etc.).
