Co-Directors’ Message

As the communications, computing, and information revolution has taken hold, applications encompassing the analysis, design, and management of complex systems have focused research and education on information and systems engineering. Under the leadership of Boston University faculty across multiple departments, this interdisciplinary area has flourished.

The Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) applies its interdisciplinary research to a plethora of complex system application areas ranging from communication and sensor networks, robotics and signal processing, to manufacturing, supply chain management and bioinformatics. In building on the strength of these research initiatives, the academic Division of Systems Engineering (SE) was created in 2008, extending new degree offerings to the CISE research community.

We are always looking for new collaborators, whether students, faculty, industry or government professionals who want to participate in the cutting edge research pursued in CISE and in close collaboration with the SE Division.

Please contact us to learn more about CISE and become part of the dynamic academic environment that is Boston University.
