Don't let someone exploit a known security hole on your operating system. Stay current and install patches quickly.

Solaris patching can be automated with an OIT tool called PatchAlert. Or, you can retrieve patches directly from Sun.

Managing IRIX patches isn't quite as convenient. You are encouraged to purchase a software support contract so you can receive the operating system and application patches that are in regularly released IRIX Maintenance Upgrades.
