Who do you support?
Systems Services supports BU systems administrators, including many lab managers and department computer staff that use Solaris 9 & 10, BU Linux (Zodiac & Monde), and Leopard server installations. We offer network installations of Solaris 10 and BU Linux (4.5s & 5.3) to any member of the BU community.

What operating systems do you support?
Solaris 10 (Sparc & x86), BU Linux4.5s, and 5.3, and Mac OS 10.5.X. We recommend well tested stable platforms with all the latest patches. We offer limited support of other distributions if time permits.

What type of support can Systems Support give me?
Mostly UNIX / Linux configuraton and installation assistance on 1) individual or department systems or 2) computing clusters. We can generally tell whether a problem is due to defective hardware, which must be repaired by the company that holds your service contract.

What is sys-admin-l?
Sys-admin-l is a staff mailing list comprised of BU UNIX / Linux system/MacOS administrators. It is used to share and ask information on a peer to peer level level. The sys-admin-l staff group meets quarterly to discuss common concerns. Subscribe to this and other informational mailing lists.
