Internship with RMI

RMI LogoBuilding on a relationship forged by BU alumni, sustainability@BU and the Rocky Mountain Institute communications office are collaborating to offer an exciting new internship opportunity, exclusively for BU students.

Student interns will work with the communications teams at both sustainability@BU and at the Rocky Mountain Institute in a unique, year-long internship program. During the Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 semesters, interns work on campus with sustainability@BU and then, upon a successful application to RMI, in New York City during the intersecting summer 2019 session. In both internships, students will assist staff in communicating complex issues around sustainability, energy and climate change and develop skills in public relations, digital marketing, and media.

Beginning with a sustainability@BU internship will expose the intern to the realm of campus sustainability and behavior change. The intern will then take that base of knowledge to a global, clean energy nonprofit setting during their summer interning with the RMI communications team, which will focus more on social media marketing and public relations.

Finally, the intern will return to campus and the sustainability@BU internship to complete their journey and bring lessons learned back to the higher education setting. These two different, but related opportunities will expose the intern to a variety of job duties focusing on communications, public relations, digital marketing, media, writing, and more.
