Alumni Take Green Campus Tour
BU Alumni Got their Green On as they learned what the University is doing to reduce its carbon footprint
On Saturday, October 30, 2010, a range of alumni joined the sustainability@BU team for a Green Campus Tour.
The group met at 33 Harry Agganis Way to learn about the sustainable aspects of the newest addition to BU’s skyline then walked to the Geothermal building (888 Commonwealth Ave) making stops along the way to learn about more than 20 other sustainable locations including a Zero Waste restaurant (Raising Caine’s ); lighting and HVAC retrofits (Agganis Arena); Big Belly Solar Trash Compactors (Along Comm Ave); and more. The Alumni Trolley gave everyone a lift across campus ending at Sargent College where they saw the Mackenie Study Center’s LEED Certified Interior, and a presentation on sustainability.
