’11 Eco Awards

Boston University Medical Campus receives the Excellence in Commuter Options award by encouraging employees to use alternative modes of transportation.

On April 1st 2011, Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) received the Excellence in Commuter Options (ECO) award.   This award highlights Massachusetts employers in their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through decreased drive-alone trips while encouraging employees to travel to work by transit, carpools, vanpools, walking or cycling.  BUMC was recognized with Pinacle Award, the highest  award level. The Charles River Campus was given the Pacesetter Award.

The breakfast award ceremony took place at the State House. BUMC received the highest level award – Pinnacle – from the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation. The first annual Massachusetts ECO Awards were a celebration of the exemplary contributions in the field of Commuter Options that Massachusetts employers have made toward creating a more sustainable and healthier Commonwealth.

Congratulations to the University and to TranSComm, our commuter services department.
