Every participant in the Boston University Summer Study Internship Program is guaranteed an internship placement.

Your internship placement will be facilitated by EUSA, an experienced, non-profit organization that works with each student on an individual basis. EUSA’s placement team makes a considerable effort to match each student to an appropriate placement and to support students throughout the internship. The steps in the process are as follows:

  1. Defining your interests: Before arriving on campus, you will participate in a phone conversation with a EUSA representative. During this conversation, you will discuss your interests, skills, and experience.
  2. Finding the right internship: Based on the phone discussion, EUSA’s application, and your resume, your EUSA representative will conduct a search for relevant internships. Here, EUSA’s expertise is key: having placed over 10,000 students in internships, they have an extensive database of available opportunities and close contacts with many firms and organizations.
  3. Interviewing for the job: EUSA will report its findings back to you and, based on your approval, will forward your résumé to companies that might be interested in hiring you as an intern. If those companies are interested in your resume, EUSA or the company will contact you to schedule an interview. The number of interviews each student completes will vary. However, no student will be accepted by an employer without this interview procedure.
  4. Get to work: If you and your potential employer agree that you’ll be a good fit for their organization and they offer an internship you will begin work.
