Orientation and Activities
Once you are accepted into the Summer Study Internship Program, you will receive information that will answer many of your questions, from housing arrangements, to campus life, to what to pack for your summer in Boston.
After you move in on Monday, May 21, we invite you to a Welcoming Dinner beginning at 7 p.m. at a local restaurant. At dinner, you will receive a welcome packet with important information about your program, registration confirmation, and a small gift. You will also have a chance to meet and get to know other students in your program.
On the morning of Friday, May 25, an orientation will take place on campus. Along with an opportunity to get to know fellow participants, program administrators, and faculty, you'll participate in a GPS Urban Adventure run by Boston University Experiential Education staff, and a workshop run by representatives from AIC, the internship placement agency that works with Boston University. Following the workshop, you will attend your first Internship course meeting.
The Internship Program also includes excursions and field trips to places of historic and cultural interest in and around the Boston area. Of course, you'll have plenty of opportunity to travel on your own or with new friends from the program. For activity details, visit the Internship Program calendar.
