Orientation and Activities
Once you are accepted into the Summer Study Internship Program, you will receive information that will answer many of your questions, from housing arrangements to campus life, and what to pack for your summer in Boston.
After you move in on Monday, May 19, we invite you to a Welcome Dinner held on campus or at a local restaurant. At dinner, you will receive important information about the program including a welcome packet and registration confirmation. You will also have a chance to meet and get to know other students in your program.
On the morning of Friday, May 23, you will attend your first Internship Course meeting. After your class, an orientation will take place on campus. You will have an opportunity to get to know fellow participants and program administrators, and you will attend a workshop run by representatives from AIC, the internship placement agency that works with Boston University.
The Internship Program also includes excursions and field trips to places of historic and cultural interest in and around the Boston area. Past activities include a Boston Duck Tour, a Red Sox baseball game, a day trip to Martha's Vineyard, and a play at the Huntington Theatre. And of course, you'll have plenty of opportunity to travel on your own or with new friends from the program. For activity details, visit the Internship Program calendar.
