Admissions

Students must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school in fall 2009 to apply for the Summer Challenge Program. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades and a one-page personal statement.

Admissions are made on a rolling basis and completed applications will be considered until the sessions are filled. Decisions on admission will be made once we receive the completed application. A decision will be mailed to each student within three weeks from when we receive the completed application.

Some seminars may fill up more quickly than others. If you are willing to attend alternate seminars or sessions, please rank your selections on the application.

Online submission of applications requires two steps

• Submit completed application electronically (download here December 15; also available in our brochure)
• Mail or fax your transcript, personal statement and application fee. Application fees can be paid by credit card or by check made payable to Boston University

Summer Challenge Application Procedures

To apply for the Summer Challenge Program, please submit the application online and mail the supplemental materials to:

• A completed application form (if not submitted online)
• A one-page, single-spaced personal statement. Share a story that illustrates your individuality or something you are passionate about
• An official copy of your high school transcript, including your fall 2008 grades
• A non-refundable application fee. Please make checks payable to: Boston University
• International students must complete and include additional forms with their application.
• No recommendation forms are needed for Summer Challenge

Application Deadline

There is no application deadline. Students are encouraged to apply early to ensure receiving the session and course selection of their choice. Please see Tuition and Fees for details on payment deadlines.
