Each Research Intern works with a research mentor who guides students in the development and execution of a project in their discipline of interest. Throughout the program, Research Interns enjoy a stimulating intellectual and social camaraderie with their peers that culminates in a scientific conference at the end of the program. Each student presents his or her research by creating a professional poster—not infrequently, Research Interns submit their work to national science fair contests such as the Siemens Westinghouse Competition and the Intel Science Talent Search.
