Fitness & Recreation Center

If you're looking for sports to engage in during your free time, Boston University's Fitness & Recreation Center (FitRec) is the place to go. With approximately 270,000 square feet of space, FitRec offers an 18,000-square-foot weight and cardio room, a lazy river, two separate swimming pools, two multi-use gymnasiums with seven courts, an elevated 1/8 mile jogging track overlooking several activity areas, racquetball and squash courts, and a 35' climbing wall.

Students in our High School Programs must be at least 16 years of age to purchase a membership for use of the FitRec Center while they are on campus. Eligible students need to have their parent(s) or guardian(s) fill out an Informed Consent and Waiver of Liability form (enclosed in the High School Program acceptance packet). The form should be returned to the Summer Term High School Programs office with other forms prior to arrival.

For Summer Challenge students, we recommend that this form is filled out even if you do not intend on purchasing a membership, since some of our planned afternoon activities occur in the FitRec Center and the form is needed.
