*There is a $25 co-pay fee each time a student visits Student Health Services.
**Room & Board fees are for the entire 6-week session. Students interested in commuting should follow the commuting guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact the program staff at rise@bu.edu.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for the Research Internship in Science & Engineering (RISE) Program. Awards cover partial tuition and fees and are based on both financial need and academic merit. If you would like to be considered for financial aid, please enclose the following with your application:

  • Pages 1 and 2 of your parents' 2012 Federal Income Tax Form. Please make sure to block out all social security numbers and fax or mail the form to our office.
  • A letter describing your general financial situation and the particular circumstances that prevent you from paying the full tuition and fees.

Application Deadline

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; however, since we begin to make placements in January we encourage you to apply earlier rather than later. Applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 1, 2013 for the Research Internship in Science & Engineering (RISE) Program, including financial aid. Admission decisions are made without regard to financial aid consideration. International students are not eligible for the RISE Program.

Methods of Payment

  • If paying by credit card, please go to Make a Payment. You will need your Boston University ID number. Once you have submitted your Letter of Intent and Registration Form to our office, you should contact us to receive your BU ID number.
  • If you choose to pay by check, please make the check payable to Boston University. Please write the student's name, BU ID number, and 'RISE' in the memo line.
  • If wiring money from a foreign bank, please contact us for more information.

Note: Application fees are non-refundable. No refund or reduction in tuition, registration, or program fees will be made for a student who arrives to the program late, leaves the program early, or is dismissed from the program due to violation of the program guidelines.
