Schedule of Events

Group outings to Harvard Square and Faneuil Hall. Movie nights and karaoke in the dorms. Soccer at Nickerson Field and Ultimate Frisbee on the Esplanade.

These are just a few examples of what students may participate in during the summer here in Boston. Program events help orient you to the city of Boston and help you get to know the other students in the program. And they're fun! Take a look at the schedules of events from last summer - they'll give an idea of how you can expect to spend your time while on campus.

Events listed are mandatory group activities. Optional and impromptu events planned by the program assistants and staff will also take place throughout the summer. Events are held in conjunction with the High School Honors Program.

Sunday, June 28

  • Check-in from 12 pm – 4 pm at 700 Commonwealth Avenue, 4th floor of Warren Towers
  • Program Orientation at 4:30 pm in Warren Towers Cinema Room, 4th floor
  • Dinner at 5 pm in the Warren Towers Dining Room
  • Public Safety Talk at 7 pm in Warren Towers Cinema Room
  • Floor meeting with Resident Assistant and Program Assistant at 8 pm

Monday, June 29

  • First Day of Class!  Good Luck!!! (Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 9:15 am)
  • Research Internship Orientation, Safety Training and Meet your Mentor Luncheon!
    Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 9:15 am
  • Dinner with your floor – meet at the elevator of your floor at 5:30 pm
  • "Ice" Night: Ice Breakers and Ice Cream - meet at the elevator on your floor at 7 pm

Friday, July 3

  • Duck Tour – See Boston, Ride in the Charles, and Quack at the Bostonians!
  • Meet at the elevator on your floor at 12:00 pm

Saturday, July 4

  • July 4th – Independence Day!
  • Barbeque and Fireworks: Meet at the elevator on your floor 5:45 pm

Monday, July 6

  • Be part of the Red Sox Nation! Meet at the elevator on your floor at 6:30 pm
    (For students who have class on Monday or a possible research meeting, alternate dates will be available on July 7 and July 28. – We will let you know what date you go when you get here!)

Sunday, July 12

  • Blue Man Group! Meet at the elevator on your floor at 2:45 pm

Wednesday, July 15

  • College Workshop with Boston University Admissions Office.
    Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 3:30 pm (optional event)
  • Improv Asylum – Come see Boston’s premier Improv Group perform for us (optional event)
    Meet on the 4th floor of Warren Towers at 7:40 pm

Friday, July 17

  • Pre-professional health talk – Recommended to any student interested in pre-med, pre-dental, or attending graduate school for science. Assistant Dean Zamansky will be discussing your options! Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 1:10 pm. (This is an optional event)

Saturday, July 18

  • Whale Watching or Aquarium!
    Meet at the elevator on your floor at 12:30 pm

Friday, July 24

  • Dancing “Under” the Stars? Show us your moves at the Hawaiian Luau Dance.
    Meet at the elevator on your floor at 8:00 pm

Friday, July 31

  • "Say Cheese" – Participate in a photo shoot from 1-2 pm and maybe you will be part of next year’s brochure and website!
    Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 1:00 pm

Saturday, August 1

  • Beach Trip to Hampton Beach (optional event)
    Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 9:00 a.m. Pack $, SUNSCREEN, and towel!!!

Sunday, August 2

  • Pizza Party – Enjoy eating pizza with your friends and viewing a slide show of memories from the past weeks. 
    Meet at the elevator on your floor at 6:00 pm.

Tuesday, August 4

  • College Workshop with Boston University Admissions Office
    Meet downstairs of Warren Towers at 3:30 pm (optional event)

Friday, August 7

  • Poster presentation from 1:30-3 pm
    Meet at the lobby of the Life Science and Engineering Building (24 Cummington St.) at 1:00 pm to set up your posters.
