A Day in the Life of a Research Intern

As a Research Intern at Boston University, you’ll be fully immersed in laboratory activities from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the week. In addition, you’ll meet once a week with the Research Internship Coordinator to discuss your research and ideas for your final poster.

Daily meals will be offered in the Warren Towers dining room. Warren Towers offers a wide variety of cuisine for all tastes and preferences. The dining schedule is:

Breakfast 7-9 a.m.
Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Dinner 5-7 p.m.
Weekend brunch 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Research Internship students live and participate in social activities with High School Honor students. During weeknights, you’ll have free time to take care of your work needs, engage in occasional optional activities, or socialize with your friends. On weekends, there are mandatory planned activities. Take a look at our Schedule of Events to see what kinds of things we’ll be doing.

You’ll find plenty of free time to enjoy the campus and Boston on your own. You can purchase a short-term membership to Boston University’s Fitness & Recreation Center or explore BU’s many libraries or computing centers. And of course, there are countless things to do in Boston. We do ask that you inform a program assistant when you plan to leave the University campus, and that you’re accompanied by at least one other student.
