A Day in the Life of a Residential Research Intern
As a research intern at Boston University, you are fully immersed in laboratory activities from approximately 9 am to 5 pm each day of the week, although some labs have different schedules. In addition, during the program you will attend weekly workshops run by the RISE Coordinator to supplement what you are learning in the lab, discuss your research, and plan for your final poster.
Meals are offered in the Warren Towers dining room. Warren Towers offers a wide variety of cuisine for all tastes and preferences including vegetarian and vegan options. The dining staff can also help if you have food allergies or other dietary restrictions. The dining schedule is:
|Breakfast||7 - 9 am, Monday-Friday|
|Lunch||11:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday-Friday|
|Dinner||5 - 7 pm, daily|
|Weekend brunch||10:30 am - 1:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday|
While at Boston University, you share dorm life and social activities with students from the High School Honors program. To help you get to know everyone, the BU campus, and Boston, the first week includes a variety of fun group events. After that, each weekend has a planned activity that everyone participates in, as well as some optional activities during the week. Your weeknights are free for reading scientific articles, joining impromptu activities, and spending time with friends until curfew. Take a look at our Schedule of Events to see what kinds of exciting things we do.
There is plenty of free time to enjoy the BU campus and all that Boston has to offer. You can purchase a short-term membership to Boston University’s Fitness & Recreation Center, study at one of BU’s 24 libraries, or relax on the BU beach.
