Commuter Students Housing & Dining
All commuter students are required to fill out a supplemental Commuter Permission Form upon acceptance into one of our programs. This form should be returned with the other acceptance materials.
High School Honors and Research Internship in Science & Engineering
Because dorm life is an important aspect of the college experience and helps you form closer bonds with other students, we encourage you to live on campus. However, students in the High School Honors and Research Internship in Science & Engineering (RISE) programs do have the option of commuting to campus each day.
If you choose to commute, you remain responsible for the service fees, and we expect your full participation in all planned program activities. Commuting students are also able to put convenience points on their Terrier Cards in order to purchase food at the George Sherman Union or buy meals so they can join their friends in the dining room.
There is no option to commute in the Summer Challenge Program. Students must reside on campus.
The Summer Preview program is open to commuters and residential students. Residential students must be at least 14 years of age to live on campus. Lunch is provided for commuter students in the dining hall. Commuter students are also invited to attend evening activities, and if they opt to attend these activities, dinner will be provided in the dining hall.
Academic Immersion Program
There is no option to commute in the Academic Immersion program. Students must reside on campus.
