In 2007, the US Census Bureau reported that 34 million people over the age of five speak Spanish as their primary language in the home. While approximately half of all native Spanish speakers surveyed indicated that they spoke English "very well," the need for Spanish-speaking professionals in social services industries—especially health care—continues to grow.
Focusing on Spanish grammar and terminology specific to the needs of those in the health care profession, this course builds the effective speaking and comprehension skills you need to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and their families.
