Welcome to Boston University! Matriculation, among the most revered of university traditions, is your formal induction into the Boston University community. Your entire class will gather in a single place on only two occasions: Matriculation when you enter Boston University, and Commencement when you graduate in 2012. At Matriculation, the President of the University, the Provost, Dean of Students and other dignitaries of the University welcome you to Boston University. This ceremony is mandatory for all incoming members of the Class of 2012, and we hope you will take this opportunity to learn about your new school and home, meet your new neighbors, and celebrate this exciting beginning!
When you move into your fall residence, you will receive an invitation from Dean Elmore inviting you to particpate in the Matriculation Walk. The Matriculation Walk begins at the east end of campus at Danielsen Hall, and stops by each residence hall to pick up new students to walk together to the Matriculation ceremony. This is the third annual Matriculation Walk, and it gets bigger and better every year!
