Set Up Borrowing Privileges at the School of Theology Library

To set up your Boston Theological Institute (BTI) Visitor account with us, please visit the library Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. All we need from you is a BTI Card that is valid for the current semester, and an ID (like a student ID) from the BTI institution you attend. We will have you fill out a short application for borrowing privileges (also available here). You are responsible for providing accurate contact information in addition to showing the required identification, and will be expected to follow all BU School of Theology Library policies. BTI visitors can borrow items for 28 days!

Cross-Registered BTI Students

Please let us know if you are a BTI student currently registered for a BU class. If so, you may already have a student record in our system with a longer loan period (133 days, or the expiration date  determined by your registration, whichever comes sooner.)

BTI Return Policies

Items checked out at another BU School of Theology Library can be returned to any BTI Library circulation desk. If you return a BU School of Theology item to any other BTI Library, they are sent back here either by courier or mail. Overdue notices may still be sent out between a BTI book’s return to another library and arrival at our desk, but don’t worry, any fine should be waived if the book arrives near the due date. It is your responsibility to return all materials on time and/or request renewals (by phone, email, or in person) in advance of due dates.
