Register for Borrowing Privileges at Boston University
Boston Library Consortium patrons looking to register for borrowing privileges at Boston University must present their card and identification from their home institution at Mugar Memorial Library (771 Commonwealth Ave., not far from the School of Theology Library). Once registered, patrons can check out material from any Boston University Library for 28 days, subject to recall. More information on registration for Boston Library Consortium patrons can be found on Mugar Library’s website. Note that BC, Northeastern, and Brandeis visitors do not need to register; simply use your institution’s ID to borrow items!
Return BLC Items
The following has been taken from Mugar Memorial Library’s website:
You can return borrowed materials to any Consortium member library, but you will be responsible for any overdue charges at the home institution. Materials borrowed from Consortium libraries can be returned to Mugar Memorial Library. Consortium card holders must observe each library’s circulation regulations, including the payment of charges for overdue and lost materials. Failure to do so will result in the loss of borrowing privileges at all Consortium libraries. (Once charges have reached the point of home library notification by the lending library, a block will be placed on the patron record at the home library. Privileges will remain blocked until notification has been received that the charges have been paid to the lending library.)
Please note that we will not accept returns of items from other Boston Library Consortium Libraries at the School of Theology Library. Please return these items to Mugar Library or their home library. At the School of Theology Library, we accept items from any Boston University Library, or items from any Boston Theological Institute (BTI) Library.
