The United Methodist Church Women of Color Scholars Program

Amount: Varies up to $10,000

Description: A scholarship for United Methodist Women of Color who are pursuing a Ph.D. or Th.D within the field of religious studies who desire to serve on the faculty or in an executive admininstrative position at a United Methodist Theological School. Program also includes a mentoring component.

Qualifications:

  • Female
  • Born of African, Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American parentage (at least one parent)
  • a full and active member of the United Methodist Church for at least three years
  • received a Mdiv degree or currently completing the Mdiv program at an accredited and University Senate approved seminary
  • enrolled full time, or have been accepted in a doctoral degree program in Religious Studies by time of interviews in Spring
