Spiritual and Community Life Committee

The members of this committee represent all facets of the STH community: students, faculty, and administration.  Their focus is the discussion and evaluation of our common life together.  If you have a concern regarding the spiritual of community life of the School, please put it in writing along with your name and STH Box number and deliver it to the Office of Student Affairs (Room 110) or to the Community Life Office (Room B-25).

Chapel Services
The School of Theology community holds regular chapel services each week when the School is in session.  Students, faculty, staff and guests of the School of Theology lead these services.  ChapelThe liturgy, style, and music of these services of worship vary, reflecting the diverse theological backgrounds that individuals bring to the School of Theology community.

A weekly Eucharistic Service is held each Tuesday in the Muelder Chapel on the third floor of the Theology building.  This brief rite ordinarily led by School of Theology faculty and staff, who use the Revised Common Lectionary and The United Methodist Hymnal for a Service of Word and Table.

The chapel services at the School of Theology are the central acts of our Christian community, and they are designed to meet the spiritual needs of the entire community.  The chapel program is supervised by a steering committee of students and faculty; regular student body participation on this committee ensures that all voices in the School be heard.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the Chapel service.  Your talents in preaching, special music, or scripture reading are needed.  To volunteer your time and talents, contact the Chapel Coordinator.
