The Office of Student Affairs offers a number of services and programs for the School of Theology students. Listed below is just a sample of the many resources available:

The Alumni Liaison Program maintains a newtwork of Alumni/ae representing careers in law, ethics, health science, development and government services in order to provide vocational direction and consultation with students.

The Dean's Council Against Discrimination advocates and presents institutional strategies in an effort to eliminate many forms of discrimination that may arise in a theological setting. It also serves as a clearinghouse for issues raised by the School of Theology community in reference to issues of intragroup and intergroup relations.

The Denominational Liaison Program invites STH faculty and staff to network with students that belong to their particular religious denominations.

The Fellowship Honor Society is a special society for students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions/leadership to the community within their academic careers at the School of Theology. Nominated students are inducted prior to Commencement.

The Mentor Program pairs incoming STH students with currently enrolled STH students who act as mentors and guides. For more information please contact Valentina Pride in Room 110.

Pastoral Educational Program Lectures address important socio-political issues and their impact on religious communities through faculty and guest speakers.

Research Forums are sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs to provide students and faculty with the opportunity to make research presentations during Community Lunch, initiating dialog about research outside the classroom. Each year advanced students present research papers developed with the help of a faculty member and/or advisor. Student presentations must be based on papers developed in seminary coursework or upon recommendation by the faculty.

Presently there are four forums:

  • Seminary Scholar Research Forum
  • African Diaspora Research Forum
  • Seminary Women's Research Forum
  • Korean Students Research Forum

The Spiritual and Community Life Committee represents all facets of the STH community: students, faculty and administration. The members of this committee focus on the discussion and evaluation of our common life together. If you have a concern regarding the spiritual or community life of the School, please put it in writing along with your name and STH Box number and deliver it to the Office of Student Affairs (Room 110), or to the Community Life Office (Room B-25).

The Student Travel Program provides funds for students traveling to the American Academy of Religion/Society for Biblical Literature meeting each year. Funds may also be requested for other conferences.
