Academic Assistance

Advising
Provides academic, vocational and personal support for STH students. Each STH student has an assigned advisor from his/her first semester. You may change your advisor by completing a "Change of Advisor Form," which you can pick up in and return to Room 110. To complete this form you will need the signature of your new advisor.

Learning Disablity Services
Available through the Office of Disability Services at 617/353-3658. The Office of Student Affairs will help students to contact this office. The Office of Student Affairs understands that entering seminary poses numerous academic, emotional, and spiritual challenges. Students should be aware, however, that it is their responsibility to seek help when they are having academic difficulties.

Successful Entry Tutorial
Through the Successful Entry Tutorial (S.E.T.) Program, the Dean of Student Affairs monitors students who have gained provisional admission to School of Theology masters degree programs. These students often join the student body as special students, or maintain their status as part-time students. The S.E.T. students discuss strategies for successful completion of degree programs with the Dean. The S.E.T. program also serves students who demonstrate poor academic progress. It assists students who are identified by faculty members as being 'at risk' and supports school personnel in developing intervention strategies for student success.

Writing Works
The Office of Student Affairs maintains the Writing Works program, geared toward the retention of students by working with students to strengthen their writing for theological scholarship. The program is in its seventh year.
