Classroom Facilities
We are in the process of installing presentation technology in some of our classrooms. If you are teaching or otherwise presenting in Rooms 115, B19, B20, B22 or B23, you can expect the following to be available to you:
- Ceiling-mounted projector and pull-down screen
- Wall-mounted speakers
- DVD and VHS playback capacity
- Wall-mounted inputs for video (VGA, DVI, HDMI) and audio (laptops can connect with appropriate cabling)
- Wired internet connectivity
- Wall-mounted control panel
The Faculty Lounge (Room 325) has the same equipment minus DVD and VHS players.
Using tech during classtime
If you are teaching in one of the above-mentioned classrooms and need help setting up a presentation, please contact Vika Zafrin by phone (617.353.1317) or email (vzafrin@bu.edu). We strongly recommend that you get in touch at least three days before the presentation. If you are looking to hook up a laptop, we’ll need to know what make and model it is, what operating system it’s running, and what kind of video out it has. To find the latter, look for the connector labeled with this symbol. Macs will likely have a mini-VGA, mini-DVI or mini DisplayPort connector. PC laptops probably have a VGA or DVI connector.
If you or your presenter have video adapters for the computer in question, please mention them as well.
Laptops are also available for short-term loan.
Reserving high-tech classrooms outside of classtime
Beginning in Fall 2009, students will be able to reserve Rooms 115 and B23 when they are not otherwise in session, for group work on class or other projects. Groups may be from two to ten people in size. Classrooms will be available for group work only.
To find out whether a room is available at a time you want, contact Vika Zafrin as per above, as early as possible to increase the chance of availability.
Laptops and video/audio cables are available for short-term loan, to be signed out and returned promptly.
