All graduating classes for the 2010/2011 academic year (September 2010, January 2011, and May 2011) walk at the May 2011 Commencement Ceremony.

Attendance at Commencement Events

All graduates of the University are invited to take part in all Commencement events. School of Theology students are encouraged to participate in the University’s Commencement Service at Nickerson Field, during which, by proclamation, the formal conferring of your degree takes place. All graduate level students will be seated together. A physical diploma will be handed to each STH graduate during the STH “hooding” ceremony in Marsh Chapel.

The University’s Commencement events are terrific! School of Theology students are encouraged to participate as fully as possible. Doing so reminds us that the School of Theology is part of a much larger academic community. This is an important day of recognition for your personal commitment and your efforts to complete your degree program. Plan ahead: Students with pastoral responsibilities should arrange with their congregation for substitutions. If your churches or families are planning celebrations for this day, please be sure they don’t conflict with Commencement Weekend events.

Baccalaureate: May 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. – Marsh Chapel

Boston University Commencement: May 22, 2011 at  1:00 p.m. – Nickerson Field (Rain or Shine)

School of Theology Hooding Service: May 22, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. – Marsh Chapel

School of Theology Graduating Class Picture: May 22, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. – Marsh Chapel Steps
