of Theology Appoints New Head Librarian
BOSTON UNIVERSITY is pleased to announce the appointment
of the Rev. Dr. Jack W. Ammerman as Head Librarian for the
School of Theology Library, effective January 1, 2003. He
succeeds Dr. Raymond Van de Moortell, who has returned to
parish ministry.
Dr. Ammerman has served churches in Connecticut and New Jersey,
and was Director of Campus Religious Activities at Mercer
University. He received his doctorate from Princeton Theological
Seminary, and has served Pitts Theology Library at Emory University
as Reference Librarian and as Curator of Archives and Manuscripts.
Since 1995, he has been Librarian and Director of Educational
Technology at the Hartford Seminary.
He is a Co-Principal Researcher in a Lilly Endowment-funded
project on the Development of Research-based Learning Communities
Supported by Electronic Pedagogy, has served on the Technology
Advisory Committee of ATLA, and has an interest in digital
library projects. He is a frequent presenter to national and
local library organizations.
