In these times of growing circles of activism and resistance, religious leaders are often invited to participate in protest activities. Yet many have had limited exposure to these experiences. This nonviolence training will offer an introduction to theories of nonviolence and the practice of nonviolent resistance. This 2-night training will be held on held on consecutive Wed. evenings and will be highly interactive with role play, group decision-making exercises, discussion of protest scenarios and stress management activities. The first session (Jan.24th) will focus on participating safely in large scale demonstrations. The second session (Jan. 31st) builds on the first and includes an introduction to possible civil disobedience scenarios.
