Prison Chaplain Brown Bag

BUSTH alumnus, Pierce VanDunk will be returning to the School of Theology to share the wisdom he has gained by navigating through school and into prison chaplaincy. He will speak about his experience, as well as answer any questions current students may have. Since the event is taking place at 12:30pm, lunch will be provided by the group. Pierce VanDunk graduated in January 2017 with his M.Div with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. He has experience in urban church planting and youth ministry. He currently serves as Religious Services Coordinator with the Middlesex House of Correction, Billerica, MA. In this position he has the dual roles of chaplain and administrator for the Religious Services program. As chaplain, he provides inmates with pastoral counseling, Bible studies, and worship services. As administrator, he oversees all aspects of service to all faiths, including distributing religious literature and materials, approving religious diets, and recruiting and coordinating other chaplains. He enjoys encountering people with various backgrounds and needs, and he appreciates speaking words of hope and life into their situation.
